Production Design - Scope of Work

principal purpose is to bring the Director's vision of
time and place
to fruition."
I create focus and authenticity
through careful research, and leverage
my many years of design background, travel, and personal experience to
bring the written story to life.
I bring the art department together and empower each of our talented
team members to contribute their strengths. Our goal is to bring forth
the very best product that can be constructed.
I believe in thorough preparation. It begins with a conversation,
and an exchange of ideas. Thoughts on how the set or location
will
impact other departments, such as the Director of Photography, or
Sound. Pictures and illustrations help create our vision. Boards convey
colors, textures, 'feelings', and the mood of the set. A floor plan, to
build from, is developed when necessary.
From pre-production (the heavy side of Production Design) to shooting,
set dressing, and prop-mastering – no detail, I believe, is
too
small to be ignored.
